MSP360 Managed Backup for M365/Google Backup 4.6: Enhancing Backup Performance and Usability

MSP360 Managed Backup for M365/Google Backup 4.6: Enhancing Backup Performance and Usability

We’re excited to announce the release of MSP360 Managed Backup for M365/Google Backup 4.6 with new features and improvements designed to optimize backup and restore operations, enhance usability, and improve overall performance.

Migration from IMAP to Google API for Backup and Restore

We have completed the migration from IMAP to the Google API to enhance email backup and restore performance, security, and scalability. Unlike IMAP, which has limitations in synchronization speed and security protocols, the Google API provides faster data retrieval, seamless integration with Google Workspace, and better scalability for handling large email volumes.

M365/Google Backup Page Redesign

Previously, you could find all M365/Google Backup options and components in the drop-down menu under M365/Google Backup menu. Now, all backup options are accessible from a single page, reducing clicks, improving usability, and simplifying navigation.

New Email Notifications for Backup Issues

To ensure proactive monitoring and issue resolution, MSP360 now provides email notifications for key backup issues, including:

  • Blocked Domains: alerts when a domain cannot be backed up due to the block.
  • Auto-User Activation Failure: notifications when there’s no license available.
  • No Backup License: alerts when there is no valid license available for backups.

Improved PST File Downloading with Direct PST Download Option

A new pop-up notification window warns users when a large number of PST files are being generated and provides the option to activate Direct PST Download. This feature allows users to download PST files directly from storage, bypassing the backup service for faster access.

Domain Names in Email Backup Report Subjects

Backup reports now include the domain name in the subject line. With this update, you can quickly recognize which domain the report relates to, simplify report management, and enable more efficient filtering of reports.

Enhanced Auto-Unblock Operations

The logic for auto-unblocking domains that reach storage limits has been improved. Now, unblocking occurs instantly when the triggering condition is resolved, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous service.

New Assign License Button to Retain Data of Inactive Domains

Inactive unlicensed domains previously had their data automatically deleted after 90 days. To prevent unintended data loss, we have introduced an Assign License button that allows administrators to retain data by assigning a valid license.
