We’re excited to introduce MSP360 Managed Backup for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace 4.5 with enhanced auto-activation for M365 groups or organization units, enhanced backup and restore task handling, file name history, restore functionality for MS Teams channels and for OneNotes files, and data deletion for domains or accounts with licenses expired more than 90 days ago.
Enhanced Auto-Activation for Microsoft 365 Groups or Google Workspace Organizational Units
Manual user activation is time-consuming and inefficient, often leading to human errors that result in inconsistencies. Administrators are overwhelmed with repetitive tasks, which reduces their ability to focus on more strategic work. This new feature automatically activates all or only newly created users within selected M365 user groups and Google Workspace organizational units. It enhances user experience by reducing onboarding time and administrative workload.
Enhanced Backup and Restore Task Handling
Manual handling of unavailable files during backup and restore operations can cause interruptions, leading to incomplete backups and restores. This feature ensures that backup and restore processes continue and complete smoothly, while also providing detailed information about any unavailable files. It also saves time by automatically skipping unavailable files, allowing the process to complete faster.
Unavailable items are now skipped and reported in the Skipped Items grid.
File Name History
Manual tracking of file renaming events is inefficient and often leads to errors, making it difficult to maintain accurate file histories. Additionally, malware that renames files can cause confusion and data inconsistency.
With MSP360 Managed Backup for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, we added the ability to track the file renaming history, including the original and new names with timestamps. This also allows users to restore previous versions of file names, ensuring better file management. Additionally, it provides protection against malware that renames files, helping to maintain data consistency and increasing the user’s confidence in the backup and restore processes by ensuring that data remains reliable and consistent.
Restore Functionality for MS Teams
With the introduction of this new feature, administrators can now restore Teams channels, including all posts, ensuring seamless recovery and continuity of team interactions. This ensures that any accidental deletions or changes can be quickly undone, maintaining the continuity of team communications and collaborations.
Also, by recovering deleted or altered posts, teams can maintain seamless communication and collaboration without interruptions.
Restore Functionality for OneNote
Previously, the restore feature for OneNote was limited, only allowing users to download files locally. Now, with the enhanced restore functionality, users can directly restore OneNote data back into Microsoft 365. This improvement ensures that all notes and sections can be seamlessly recovered and reintegrated into the cloud environment, enhancing data management and accessibility.
Restored files are immediately available in the cloud, making them accessible from any device with internet access.
Data Deletion for Domains or Accounts with Licenses Expired More Than 90 Days Ago
This feature automatically deletes data from storage and backup metadata for accounts and domains that have been inactive for more than 90 days. This helps maintain an organized system by removing outdated and unused data. However, this process can be stopped or delayed by assigning paid licenses to the domain, ensuring continued storage of backup data.
