Introducing CloudBerry Explorer 5.4 for S3

Today CloudBerry Explorer for Amazon S3 is receiving yet another update that brings support for the BackBlaze B2 lifecycle and expands the list of supported Amazon S3 & Glacier regions. Read on to learn more about the latest additions.

Support for China Northwest (Ningxia) region in Chinese Amazon S3 & Glacier

A few days ago Amazon expanded its cloud operations unit in China with a new northwestern location — Ningxia. We always stay on top of things and are now bringing support for the region in the latest version of CloudBerry Explorer for Amazon S3. Our Chinese users can now create, list, and access buckets located in the China (Ningxia) region.

Support for BackBlaze B2 lifecycle policy

Another minor improvement is the support for BackBlaze B2 lifecycle policies which allow you to hide or delete bucket items according to a pre-defined rule. If you're using B2 to store your backups, you can now use CloudBerry Explorer to set policies to hide or delete files or folders with a certain prefix at a certain date. To do that, simply right-click on a bucket stored in B2, and click Bucket Lifecycle.

Click Add on the newly appeared window. Then enter a prefix that will be used to identify items subject to the rule. In this example, we're going to create a policy that will automatically hide every item whose name starts with "CBB_" seven days after the upload date and delete them fourteen days after the hiding date.

You can create as many rules as you want but make sure that they don't conflict with each other.
