Introducing MSP360 Backup for Mac OS and Linux OS Freeware Version

Freeware versions of MSP360 Backup for Mac OS cloud backup and Linux cloud backup are now available! They come with most of the features that you can find in the commercial license version of our product such as flexible schedule options and retention policies as well as a whole variety of cloud storage providers.

The freeware versions of MSP360 Backup for Mac OS and Linux OS are designed for personal, non-business use. They have a 200 GB limit on the amount of data you can back up to the cloud and 1TB limit for local backup and do not include the compression and encryption features.

How to Get Started with MSP360 Backup Freeware Version

1. Launch MSP360 Backup and select Use FREE version option.

freeware_optionsNote: If you want to take advantage of all the features offered by MSP360 Backup, you can always activate the product license and switch to the fully functional commercial version of the product!

2. Enter your username (it can be any name you want), email address and click on the Get registration key link to register your Freeware version.

alex_activation_message4. Copy the registration key from the message and paste it into the "Enter the registration key" field. Then click Finish.

Activating Commercial License

1. To activate the commercial license, navigate on Settings > License and hit Activation button.

Getting Started with MSP360 Backup Freeware using Command Line

You can get started with MSP360 Backup Freeware with MSP360 Backup command line interface. Follow the steps below:

1. To start using the Freeware version and request a registration key, run the following command:

cbb activateLicense -e Email -free -un UserName

Example:

cbb activateLicense -e alex@msp360.com -free -un Alex

2. A message with the registration key will be sent to your email address.

3. To register the Freeware version: specify the registration key that was sent to your email address in the following command:

cbb activateLicense  -e Email -free -oa RegistrationKey

Example:

cbb activateLicense -e alex@msp360.com -oa BcxanlTUkjCIjm9PbjPN

Activating Commercial License using Command Line

You can easily activate the commercial license by using MSP360 Backup command line interface. Open the terminal and run the following command:

cbb activateLicense -e Emai -k LicenseKey

Example:

cbb activateLicense -e alex@msp360.com -k BcxanlTUkjCIjm9PbjP...N

where "email" is your personal email and "license_key" is the license key that you received when buying the product.
