It's been almost three months since we have released MSP360 Backup Admin for iOS which lets MBS providers track their user's backup activity. We've received great feedback so far and today we're excited to bring you the first update to the app — release 1.1.
Support for FaceID and TouchID
MSP360 Backup Admin for iOS 1.1 features enhanced security thanks to the implemented authentication via FaceID, TouchID, or passcode. This feature is disabled by default but you can enable it in the app's settings.
Later on, whenever you launch the app, you'll have to authenticate via FaceID or Touch ID. Alternatively, you can authenticate via passcode (if there's no biometric authentication on your device or you chose not to use it). Passcodes can also be used as a fallback if TouchID or FaceID are not working properly on your device.
Support for the New iPad Pro
Apple has recently introduced the next generation of its iPad Pro line-up. In addition to slimmer bezels and updated hardware, the new iPad pro gained support for FaceID.
MSP360 Backup Admin has consequently been updated and is now fully compatible with the new iPad Pros. The app has been optimized for the new resolution of the 11- and 13-inch iPad Pros and also brings the previously mentioned support for FaceID.
Optimization for iOS 12.1 and Design Improvements
On top of that, release 1.1 has been optimized for Apple's latest iOS 12.1, bringing smooth and reliable experience to all users who have updated to the latest version of iOS. We've also tweaked the app's design here and there to make it even more pleasant to use.
Conclusion
MSP360 Backup Admin continues improving and now gains support for biometric authentication, the new iPad Pros, and iOS 12.1.
