On July 17, 2018, Amazon Web Services hosted an annual summit in New York. With more than 10,000 cloud computing practitioners, it was definitely one of the biggest AWS events. Here's a short recap of the conference from MSP360.
Our team was thrilled to meet so many new and existing customers as well as participants from enterprise IT organizations, service providers who came to our booth to discuss their potential cloud backup opportunities. As everyone knows, attending an AWS Summit is the best way to rub shoulders with security and backup experts and share opinions and experience.
Amazon has announced several important news and releases regarding cloud data storage. We have gathered the most significant ones:
- Increased Request Rate Performance. S3 customers can now expect faster data retrieval rates for faster processing, all at no extra charge.
- AWS added support on its Snowball Edge for SBE1, a new EC2 instance type that features a 1.8 GHz Xeon D processor.
- Amazon Virtual Private Cloud now allows its clients to use your own publicly-routable IP addresses with AWS resources such as EC2 instances, Network Load Balancers, and NAT Gateways.
Thank AWS for the great event organization. It was nice meeting everyone there.
